THE LEARNING JOURNAL / SEASON OF GIVING
A Season of
Giving and Building
Free internal audits for small businesses. Practical resources. Stronger foundations.
Tell me about your business ↗Year-end can get busy fast when you run a small business. You’re finishing jobs, looking after customers, managing expenses, and thinking about what needs to change next year. Improving your quality system can keep sliding down the list, even when you know it deserves attention.
I want to help make that work more affordable.
This season, I’m offering free internal audits for small businesses through RiddickanCo. I’m also bringing together more of the resources behind our work: practical documents, templates, learning tools, my résumé, and our capability statement.
Giving people useful support and helping them build something stronger is where I want to put my energy as we close out the year.
A practical look at how your business works
An internal audit gives you a chance to step back and look at your processes with fresh eyes.
Are people working from the right instructions? Can you find the records you need? Do customer requirements make it through to the people doing the work? When something goes wrong, does the fix hold up?
Those questions matter whether you have a dedicated quality department or one person wearing several hats.
My approach is to follow the work, ask questions, and review evidence. The purpose is to understand what’s working and where gaps need attention, so you can make better decisions about your next steps.
If you’re interested in a free internal audit, email me at triddick@riddickanco.com. Tell me a little about your business, your industry, and what you want to understand better. We’ll discuss the audit scope and scheduling directly.
I keep internal-audit and consulting work separate from my certification-audit responsibilities and check for conflicts before accepting work. An internal audit does not issue or guarantee certification.
More affordable ways to keep building
In my earlier article, “Consulting Is Expensive, but I Have a Cheaper Solution,” I asked what kind of support businesses would actually use.
Would a template with a completed example help? Would one hour of focused advice get you unstuck? Would a small-group workshop give your team the confidence to handle more of the work themselves?
I still want those answers.
The free internal-audit offer is one way I’m putting that conversation into action. The document packages, focused advice, and group-training ideas remain part of the conversation as I shape their scope and pricing.
You should be able to tell me what you need without starting with a large consulting package.

Resources you can put to work
I’m bringing our website resources together so it’s easier to find support for the task in front of you.
That includes documents and templates with examples, quality-system learning resources, and information about the experience behind RiddickanCo and MOVARA. My résumé and our capability statement will be part of that collection, so you can see my background and the kinds of work we support.
My experience includes Navy aviation quality assurance and instruction, nuclear quality, regulated food manufacturing, and contract ISO 9001 lead auditing. Across those settings, clear processes and reliable evidence have always mattered.
For a small business, that might mean getting your procedures organized, strengthening your internal-audit process, or understanding why the same problem keeps coming back. The support should connect to the work your people actually do.
You can start with RiddickanCo’s website and training overview. I’ll add the document and template downloads as they’re ready.
